This week
Trenton Public
Schools and the Trenton Community are participating in sending our students and
community a very powerful message against BULLYING this week. We have activities planned to help students
understand the definition of bullying, the many shapes and forms it can come in
and what we can do about it. Along with
messages mixed into our morning announcements, students will be attending an
assembly, creating anti-bullying posters, and watching videos. We will be signing a pledge and brainstorming
scenarios. Friday is the culmination
with a “Mix-It-Up Lunch” with students being encouraged to sit at different
lunch tables with new friends. Look for
the support stickers in local businesses.
Please allow your student to wear BLACK on Friday to “Black Out Bullying”
and take a few minutes to discuss this with your student. Thanks!
Ninth Week of the
Second Quarter
As you know, the end of the 2nd quarter is fast
approaching. Here’s what’s up this
week..
READING We are starting our new small groups
and some of our book clubs this week.
Students will be working towards new reading goals. Two of our existing book clubs will be
presenting and promoting their books to the class.
WRITING We
will continue to look at examples of fiction, discussing what important
elements make up effective stories.
Students are continuing to fill their writer’s notebooks with many
drafts.
MATH Switching
gears a smidge, both grade levels will be taking a week or so to look at
multiples and factors. Prime numbers,
