“As we move on from what happened on Friday, let it not turn into something that defines us, but something that inspires us to be better, to be more compassionate, and more humble people.”

What We’ve Been Up To

Wow!  The Christmas Concert was excellent.  Very impressed with our student’s recorder abilities so early in the school year.  Thanks to all of our families who came to watch.  Friday afternoon we got to watch Gemini perform in a school-wide sing along assembly.  Thanks PTO!!

Last week we continued with poetry, worked on our personal narratives, continued long division practice and finished up research on our Explorer Project.  We had a chance to read our hand-written storybooks to Mrs. Stapleton and Ms. Luxton’s kindergarteners.  They loved them!

This Week

READING We will be wrapping up individual goals, small group goals and nearing the end of our current book clubs.  We want to start somewhat fresh in January.

WRITING We will be setting larger amounts of time aside to polish our Personal Narratives and will be turning in by Friday.

MATH                      We will be having a division test on Wednesday.  Students will be bringing home study guides Monday to practice.

SCIENCE  Wrapping upo our States of Matter Science Unit.  Test will be the first week back and then we will be starting “Forces and Motion”.

SS                            Our research is complete and turned in.  Students will be creating a presentation board and telling the class about their explorer.

Christmas Festivities

Our Christmas Committee has planned a very nice breakfast and party for the class.  Many of you are helping with supplies.  Thank you!!  We will be eating after gym at 9:45.  Party to follow.  We will be watching a movie in the afternoon.

Friday will be low key.  We will be setting goals for January, cleaning/organizing and getting ready for our return in January.

Thank Yous

We have had so many philanthropic causes this month—I am so impressed by the generosity of our families.  The Mitten/hat tree, Toys for Tots, Goodfellows, and our own Penny Wars.  Charity teaches our children the good of generosity.  Thanks for supporting them with this.

Merry Christmas to each of you.  Again, I continue to be blessed each day with your children.  I hope you have a restful, joyful and beautiful couple of weeks!
